GOING OUT OF YOUR MIND, TO COME TO YOUR SENSES

Posted by Emma Leafe on

Healing begins when you allow yourself to feel. You can inspire your senses by wandering out of your usual patterns.

Becoming aware of how your body feels in each moment … Literally, going out of your mind !

SHORT MEDITATION TO AWAKEN YOUR SENSES

Begin by sitting quietly …
Focus your attention on what you have just been doing.

Become aware of the minds ability to 'lock' you in thought, as if hypnotised by a movie … Where were you just then?

Now return to your body, become present

Breathing deeply … Inspire

How does your body feel?

SENSES

Are there sensations in your head? Your shoulders? Your belly?

Any aches, pains? Tiredness? Emptiness in the heart perhaps ? …

Can you notice a tingling in your hands & feet?

If you are really locked into your head, or possessed by strong emotions.

Textures can also inspire you to feel … to welcome you back into the salvation of your body … and out of your mind

IMAGINE

Visualise, running your hands … along the textures … of a cool stone wall

Your finger tips … feeling the dry, rough, bark of a tree

Imagine … sliding your hands through soft fur …. or along a crystal clear, sheet of glass, covered in thick cream …
How do those textures feel in your hands?
